Hope everyone had an amazing start to 2017! As always, the month flew by but I have a ton of favorite things to share:
I’ve recently become obsessed with skin care and taking the time to take extra care of my skin. One of my favorite ways to relax and wind down is to use a face mask. I love sheet masks because you can add that extra boost to your skin care routine without investing in a whole new product. I recently tried the Dr. Jart Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask which immediately left my skin radiant and hydrated. I also love to treat my under eye area with a Sephora Collection Eye Mask. My personal favorite is Pearl but there’s a variety of formulations to choose from. These masks range from about $5-$10 at Sephora and are the perfect way to treat yourself on a night in.
I’ve been using this product ever since I got it a few summers ago. I’m not into heavy contouring, but it’s perfect for a subtle hint of color on your cheeks. I also use the cooler shade in my eyebrows and the warmer shade on my eyelids. I always get asked what eyeshadow I wear and it’s really just a sweep of my bronzer. The lightest shade works great to set under the eyes, or to set your cream highlighter. This product is buildable and can really be used for any type of look.
Comfort always comes first, especially in the winter. Most days you can find me in a hoodie. I love Cropped Hoodies from Urban, of course a Thrasher Hoodie because I wish I was a skater sometimes, and basically any men’s hoodies because I’m always shopping in their section anyway.
My go-to shoes for cold, snowy, icey weather. I’ve had quite a few pairs of timbs over the years but the black ones are definitly my favorite. They are the perfect winter shoe and will last you for many seasons ahead.
I got my wisdom teeth out in January which was such a pain, but luckily I was stocked up on my favorite smoothies from Daily Harvest. There is a full blog post on DH coming very soon, but it’s basically a smoothie/soup subscription service. There’s a variety of flavors to choose from that are all packed with pre-portioned organic, vegan, and gluten-free ingredients for the perfect healthy meal. You keep the cups in your freezer and all you have to do is add liquid, either blend or heat, pour it back in the cup, and you’re ready to go. They are delivered on dry ice that lasts for hours so you don’t have to worry about them going bad, and they will last in your freezer for a few months. It has seriously changed my unhealthy cravings and snacking habits because not only are they so easy to make, but they are SO good. My personal favorites are avocado + cacao because it tastes just like a frosty, and strawberry + peach because it’s a sweet treat. You can get 2 free cups with your first order here!
I retired my light gray Herschel and now have a black one that I use every day. They are the best backpacks for work or school because of their quality and simplicity.
The cutest place in the village for a quick breakfast! Oatmeals is a little cafe where you can completley customize your oatmeal. It’s right near one of my favorite places in the city, Washington Square Park.
BEST VEGAN RESTAURANT EVER! This place changed the vegan game. My personal favorites are the fried avocado tacos and the avocado blt. Vegan or not, check this place out if you’re in the city.
One of the best parts of 2016 was meeting so many amazing people at my retail job. I no longer work there but I reunited with a lot of my old coworkers on New Years. While it may have been a hot (drunk) mess, we had a lot of fun.
Emma runs the magazine The Messy Heads, a magazine/ website that everyone needs in their life. The stories and writing her and her team share are inspiring and unlike any other content on the internet. They share authentic, important topics that are way more special than what most blogs/magazines do. She recently did a series called The Messy Hearts Club to share different heartbreak stories. I am so happy I was a part of it! You can check it out here.
My absolute favorite vegan blog/youtube channel ever! All of the food Lauren and John make is so creative and you’d never know it was vegan. I just did a full blog post the recipes of theirs that you need to try.
