Fall is FINALLY here! Since I kept my beauty routine pretty minimal this summer, I wanted to share some ways I’ll be revamping it. The cooler and dryer weather definitely effects my skin, and the season itself effects what kind of beauty products I go for. Take care of your skin, experiment with your looks, and use whatever products that make you feel like the best!
E S S E N T I A L S:
One of the most important things you can do for your skin this season! Exfoliate away dry patches and reveal fresh and glowing skin. Use exfoliating products on your skin around 2 times a week, and on your lips whenever you may need it. It’s is really beneficial for how your skin appears and how your makeup sits on your face, so don’t skip this step!
Right after you exfoliate, bring out your thickest moisturizer that you have. For fall and winter, the creamier the better. Even if you have oily skin, you still need to moisturize! I personally switched out my moisturizer for a hydrating treatment at night, but use whatever works best for your skin. Don’t forget to hydrate your hands, knees, and elbows, as those areas on your body get extremely dry too.
Like I said, no matter what skin type you have, always hydrate! Drink more water than usual this season, and keep some hydrating products in your bag at all times. Whether that is a face oil to dab on some dry spots throughout the day, or a lip salve to keep your lips from drying up, there’s a ton of products on the market that can easily prevent the cold weather from getting to you.
E X T R A S:
Add some flush to your cheeks with a deeper tone. Instead of using a powder, try using a cream or stick for a dewey finish. Don’t forget to highlight to give your skin that healthy glow.
Incorporate warmer and darker shadows back into your look, and experiment with liner. My go-to look for fall is more sultry, that leaves all of the focus on my eyes – but do whatever you think works best for you! Don’t be afraid to go bold and try something new. Experiment with shadows, glitter, liner, and lashes, and have fun with it.
After you’ve done the most important part (lip balm), play around with different colors and shades. If you usually wear no color, try to add a little nude liner with some lip balm. If you usually wear pinks and reds, go for a plum one day. As long as your lips aren’t dry and can’t hold the product, I’m sure it’ll look bomb.
Switch it up! Whether it’s the color or the style, making the smallest change to your hair can make the biggest difference. Bangs seem to be the new thing right now, but if that’s not for you, you can switch up the color, cut, or even just how you part it.
The best part about makeup, and why I spent a lot of time dedicated to it, is that it’s totally up to what you like and how you’re feeling. So however you’re feeling this fall, use and wear whatever it is that expresses you the most. Have fun with it, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!
From essentials to extras, I hope this inspired you to switch things up for fall!.
