One of the best parts about summer is waking up with tanned and radiant skin. As we start to spend less time at the beach and more time indoors, it’s time to focus on maintaining that natural summer glow. Here’s a few ways to keep your skin looking vibrant and healthy, even in the colder months:
So simple but so effective. Make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day. Water hydrates your skin from the inside out and leaves you with plumper and more hydrated skin. I carry around a BKR bottle or S’well bottle wherever I go and try to drink about 3 liters a day.
What you put into your body has a HUGE effect on your skin. Try to incorporate more fruits and veggies into your diet and cut out the junk. Foods like blueberries (antioxidants), red bell peppers (vitamin C), sweet potato (vitamin A) , and avocado (vitamin E) are all beneficial to how health your skin appears.
Reveal fresh skin by exfoliating away all of the dry patches and dead skin cells. Don’t have an exfoliator? There’s a ton of way to make one at home. Try combinations like mixing honey, olive oil, or lemon juice with sugar.
Step up your moisturizing game this fall with an overnight treatment or moisturizing mask. I honestly never thought I would need one of these until I tried one. TULA just launched an Overnight Treatment packed with 3 strains of probiotics, fruit extracts, vitamin C, and other beneficial ingredients that will have you wake up GLOWING! No joke. I’ve been using it for about a week and my skin is softer, smoother, and of course super hydrated (without looking oily). It might seem a bit pricey but you can use my code emily25 for 25% off and free shipping on the site. If you’re looking for a mask, Glossier’s Moisturizing Moon Mask is formulated with licorice root, hyaluronic acid, honey, and aloe to give you that extra hydration boost as well.
Play around with different self tanners and bronzers to add some warmth back into your skin. Self tanning can be scary but I have a whole post about it here. Make sure the products that you use are matte, as shimmer and glitter can tend to look unnatural.
This one is obvious, but finish off your everyday makeup look with some highlighter. If you have oily skin, use a powder, and if you have dry skin, go with a cream or liquid. For an overall radiance, add a drop or two of illuminator in with your foundation.
It’s the littlest things that make the biggest difference!
