Fall is almost here and I’m so excited for cooler weather and switching up my look. I was looking back through Fashion Week photos and got really inspired by the different looks on the runway. I personally rarely wore makeup this summer because it was too hot and humid, but I’m excited to switch things up and play around with different looks for fall!
On the runways the makeup can be extreme, so here’s a little guide on how to tone them down and incorporate the trends into your makeup routine.
Experiment a little more with your eyeliner and how you apply it. Try to drag the tip of your winged liner into your crease. To make it look less intense, you can play with shadows and blending the liner out. I personally love the Stila Stay All Day Liner because it’s super long lasting and easy to control.
Oscar de la Renta, 2016
Probably my favorite trend! Try dabbing a sparkly shadow all over your eyes, or along your lower lash line to be more subtle. You can find glitter shadows anywhere for a range of prices, but some of of my favorites are by Smashbox in the”Full Exposure” palette.
Tommy Hilfiger, 2016
Such a classic fall trend that pops up on the runways year after year. Dark lipstick can look really sexy when you wear it the right way. Go for a very minimal eye and cheek, and have the focus be all on your lips. One of my favorites is Cyber by MAC.
Fenty x Puma, 2016
Channel your inner Twiggy with clumpy spider lashes. You could just apply a few of coats of Maybelline’s Spider Effect mascara, but you can also apply a few individual lashes across your eyes to add more to the “separated” look.
Eudon Choi, 2016
Those sexy, smudged bedroom eyes are perfect for transitioning into fall. I usually do a sultry eye with 2 matte shadows. First, apply one shade all over your lid and lower lash line. Then apply the darker one messily along your upper lash line and lower half of your lid. I love using NARS’ eyeshadows for their pigment and how well they blend with each other.
Diane von Furstenberg, 2016
“No-makeup makeup” is back. I’m all about natural makeup and just barely using it to accentuate your features. I love Glossier because their products are super sheer and natural, and are perfect for not looking like you’re wearing anything.
Nina Ricci, 2016
